Paediatric dentistry at Clinic Saint-Jean - site Méridien
The paediatric dentistry department of Clinic Saint-Jean, located at the site Méridien in Brussels specialises in the treatment of children and anxious or uncooperative adults, as well as the treatment of specific dental diseases requiring a tailored medical approach. We offer safe, specialised management in order to provide each patient with high-quality treatment in a hospital setting.
Our paediatric dental care
- Treatments under sedation (medical nitrous oxide) or general anaesthesia for children or adults with severe anxiety or who have difficulty cooperating, thus providing optimal comfort throughout the procedure.
Medical nitrous oxide is a simple equimolar mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen (Kalinox). This does not lead to any post-care issues. The gas is eliminated by the body very easily after a few minutes as it is not absorbed. It is mainly used to reduce patient anxiety, and to take away apprehension and “fear of the dentist”. It is a great help in reducing stress and anxiety. With medical nitrous oxide, treatment is comfortable, effective and fast, and can be performed in complete safety. The patient can then go back home after about thirty minutes.
- Full dental restoration in a single session under general anaesthesia, to treat complex cases in a single appointment, without having to attend multiple sessions, which may be difficult for patients.
- Treatment of molar incisor hypomineralisation (MIH), a problem that is often complex to treat in a dental surgery, which requires a specialised approach and appropriate equipment.
- Treatment of extensive cavities requiring a full technical platform to effectively treat numerous severe cavities that cannot be treated in a traditional dental surgery.
- Selective tooth avulsions to remove teeth in a targeted and safe manner, performed in a healthcare setting for greater safety.
Our team of paediatric dentists provide fast, high-quality treatment with short treatment times to avoid delaying the healthcare pathway of your children or patients. Each procedure is performed with rigorous, personalised follow-up to ensure the best possible outcome.
